Hi my fellow Atlanta House Nerds, I wanted to give Atlanta Homeowners (Gwinnett, Cobb, Forsyth, Fulton, and DeKalb Homeowners as well as others) a bit of value that could help you as you sell your Atlanta home this year. When trying to sell your home in Atlanta, you definitely want to keep the place perfectly staged and tidy but your floors and carpets need to remain clean. When your house goes on the market and especially houses in Atlanta with how hot our market is, you will encounter lots of foot traffic. And with that foot traffic, here comes the dust, direct, and trash. And if you are like most Americans, you have you job to do so your time is already spent with that. But your floors and carpet don’t have to suffer. So what’s there to do since you have not mastered the science of time travel? If you don’t have the budget (and it would be costly to do everyday and often) for house cleaners, get yourself a robot vaccuum.
Robot Vaccuums have been around for a few years now and they are getting better each year. There are brands like Roomba and one that we invested in, the bObi by bObsweep. I bought it for Christmas because we have 2 little ones (5 year old and a 2 year old) who keeps a trail of mess we have to go behind and keep clean. Although the bObi or other robot vaccuums will not totally eliminate the need for us to pull out the broom and vaccuum cleaner, it has totally made things easier and tidier quicker. When I brought it home, I could tell that Sancha had the look like “oh goodness, here he comes with another gadget”, but she’s even had to admit that this little circular robot cleaner is really great to have. It comes with a remote that you can setup a schedule for it to clean. We have it set for 9AM daily. So that by the time the kids have eaten and ushered off to school, it came come from the base and do it’s thing. And there’s no reason to watch it, it goes out, maps it’s progress, and even smart enough to know when it’s low on juice. But it can usually clean the entire main floor with no issues. It even comes with a block that we use to stay out of certain places.
There are occasions where if if runs over an object (usually some small toy or something left on the floor by one of the little ones) and partially picks it up, you may have to intervene and remove it so that the robot can continue cleaning. And if you have pet, they do a great job of picking up any pet hair. It’s a good thing Tebow, our Boston Terrier, isn’t a shedder, so we don’t have to worry about that. Our bObi comes equipped with a UV lamp to disinfect…how cool is that and clean? But Tebow, he is not too fond of the robot vaccuum, so when the robot is deployed, he finds a way to get out of it’s way.
How can a robot vaccuum help you as you sell your Atlanta home? It can be set to come out every few hours as clients comes in to walk your property and it will help to keep your floors looking great. There is nothing like walking into a property and the floor are looking good and this helps buys better imagine themselves in the house. But there are times you walk into a property with a client and you feel like you want to pull out the broom for the seller and clean up.
